7 Imaginative Narrative Writing Prompts To Create The Perfect Story

I hope you’re having a wonderful month, and are getting through your list of 30 August Writing Prompts! I’m having great fun trying to keep up! lol, But just in case you need more inspiration…

Writing is as much fun as it is challenging, and for most writers, no matter how good they are, a time comes when it is so hard to figure out where to start from.

At times like these, it is advisable to not panic or question your mettle as a writer. What you should do it to set a timer of 5 to 15 minutes and just keep writing until it stops. To use this method, you surely need a prompt which you’ll write on for those few nonstop writing minutes. So here are 7 imaginative narrative writing prompts that will help you put an end to any writing block and get you back in the game.

 

Prompt 1 – Monday

Tonia just got into college. It’s her first day, and she is quite nervous. Out of fear of being alone and a need to be respected, she joins this group of powerful girls called “The Outlaws”. Unknown to her, she had joined a powerful school cult.

What happens next?

Prompt 2 – Tuesday

A deadly villain from a superhero movie suddenly walked out of Vanessa’s television and is terrorizing the entire city. The police aren’t making progress and Vanessa has to find a way to make the hero also walk out of her TV screen and save everyone from dying at the hands of this super villain. How does she achieve this?

Prompt 3 – Wednesday

Maria and her 25-year-old son are always having quarrels, even in public. So they decide to see a therapist who advises them to go on a long trip together. They obey the therapist and start out the adventure. How did they discover each other and eventually stop the constant quarrels?

Prompt 4 – Thursday

Alex is the only human being left in the world. But…there is a knock on the door. Who or what could be knocking?

Prompt 5 – Friday

There was a national writing competition, and you came out as the winner! Your President, who is so impressed with your performance decides to give you 50 days to run the country in his place. You are the president of your nation for 50 days, what would you do with that opportunity?

 

 

Prompt 6 – Saturday

After a long day at work, Amy comes home later than usual and is worried about the kids and her husband. She gets into the house, but everyone is shocked to see her and wouldn’t talk to her, even her husband. Amy thinks it’s a game until she walks into her room and sees herself lying on the bed. Who is this second woman that looks and acts exactly like Amy? What happens next?

Prompt 7 – Sunday

Animals have decided to take up against humans because we won’t stop eating them. After killing so many people, the human race made a vow to never eat meat again, but animals don’t trust us to keep to our word so they continue their attack and it is a full war of man versus animals of all types and sizes.

How does the war end? Will humans ever stop eating meat?
